Peggy Sue Robinson
September 30th 2019
Peggy Sue spent her lifetime telling her loved ones and thousands of others how to make it to the “peak!” Her ministry as a pastor’s wife and an evangelist across America for over thirty years has impacted so many as she spoke and sang her way into our hearts and challenged us to continue her passion. On the first anniversary of Peggy’s passing, our entire family, remembering her words, made our way to the “summit” of Pikes peak in Colorado, since it was the closest we could get to heaven. There, we placed stones of memorial at 14,000 ft elevation , prayed together with our Pastor and wife, and pledged our desire to make it to the “peak”. That day along with a host of friends, loved ones , and ministry partners, we established the “Together Going Higher” memorial foundation for the support through scholarship funding of students in training for lifetime Christian ministry and for those currently serving in the front lines of church planting efforts. Her story, and the tragic losses our family has experienced since that time, are stories that must be shared to encourage and inspire others on their spiritual journey.
In June 2021 Madilyn Sue Chapman, musician, YouTube Christian entertainer, and our beautiful grand daughter, passed away suddenly at her home due to an undiagnosed brain aneurysm. Her short but amazing life of 18 years has impacted so many as she never hesitated to share her faith with a warm smile and enthusiasm.
In October of the same year, her dad, Terry Chapman also passed away due to complications of Covid. Terry was a super dad to his three girls and led his family faithfully to God's house each week. Even with the sorrow of losing his oldest daughter, Terry leaned on the Lord for strength and God used him as he had a burden to tell others the good news of the gospel, especially in the months before he went to be with the Lord.
Shortly before the anniversary gala in the fall of 2021, we suffered another great loss. Dear friend, and brother in the Lord, Pastor Josue Perez went to be with the Lord after suffering complications of Covid in Florida. Josue was to be our partner in evangelism in Florida later that year and was also scheduled to be the feature speaker at the gala, but God had other plans for him and us. His story of redemption truly captured the hearts of any who would listen. From utter despair, thanks to the prayers of his godly parents and devoted wife, God rescued him, restored his family and filled his heart with love for the lost.
All these losses have changed us all. However, even more, they have challenged us to tell their story so others will know God loves them and give hope to all who will believe in Jesus.
