"We do not know his name, the rich young ruler that came to Jesus that day. We only know he had great riches and that he went away. Away from light. Away from life, and away from Love. Back to his paltry gold. And now nameless, forever nameless."
In this account from Mark’s Gospel this young man had asked a sincere question of Jesus.“What must I do to have eternal life?” Unfortunately, he was not pleased with the answer he received when Jesus replied, “you must go and sell all that you have and give it to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven”
Then, the Bible says, “he turned and went away “sorrowful.”Which direction are you headed? God’s way or your way? What direction are your children headed? Your grandchildren?
That rich young man spent his whole life focused on only the “SUMMIT.” He wanted only the best this world has to offer.
Jesus tried to show him the way to the “PEAK” which Webster defines as “the highest attainable point” …”eternal life forever in Heaven” ….but he chose only the “SUMMIT.”
If You had only five minutes left on this earth, what would you say to God? What advice would be most important to tell your loved ones?
Every good, loving parent wants their children to reach the “summit”of success in this life. We want them to receive a good education, acquire a satisfying job, and enjoy good health and happiness.“Together Going Higher” is inter denominational, not for profit memorial foundation dedicated to sharing the way to the “Peak”.. the highest attainable point!
Scripture says “God has placed eternity in man’s heart” Why? Because He wants every person to make it to the “peak”/“heaven” to live forever with Him.What direction are you heading? This is an invitation to join together with us as we make the climb, and help others make the climb…..all the way to the “PEAK."
